TOEFL

The TOEFL® test is the most widely respected English-language test in the world, recognized by more than 8,500 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.K. and the United States. Wherever you want to study, the TOEFL test can help you get there.

Our TOEFL Preparation Program offers a step by step program that teaches you critical test-taking techniques, helps you polish the language skills needed for the exam, and makes you a smarter test taker. The complete guide is an efficient way to prepare for TOEFL. By concentrating only on the points that are actually tested on TOEFL, it lets you get the most of your preparation period and it never wastes your time.

In our TOEFL Preparation Program, High Intermediate and Advanced English students can prepare for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) full time. TPP students work on TOEFL skills in classes and computer labs for 18 hours per week. This program meets the full requirements of F-1 non-immigrant visa status.

As a TPP student, you will work intensively on all of the skills measured on the TOEFL iBT, both, independent and integrated tasks. You will also work on real world, academic tasks, on developing your vocabulary, and take at least two TOEFL practice tests.

If you have taken the TOEFL iBT and received a score of 61, or 500 on the paper based test you may be eligible for TPP. We will re-test you at LA Institute of Translation and Interpretation to make sure that you are an appropriate student for TPP. If your score is below 500 upon re-testing at LA Institute of Translation and Interpretation, you will continue to be placed in regular EIP classes, and take courses in writing, reading, grammar and spoken English. Students enrolled in the TOEFL Preparation Program must have a score of 500 and be writing at the Advanced level, normally demonstrated by having met the pre-requisite classes.
