Spacing in Chinese

Spacing in Chinese

1.  Modern English uses space between words. But there is no space between Chinese characters.

For example:

Correct: 我在看电视。

I am watching TV.

Wrong: 我 在 看 电 视。

I am watching TV.

2. There is always a space between English words and Chinese words. For example,

Correct: 打电话给  Melissa

Give a call to Melissa

Wrong: 打电话给Ms. Melissa

Give a call to Melissa

3. There is no space between Arabic numbers and Chinese characters

Correct: 10月17日

17th October

Wrong: 10  月 17  日

17th October
